As part of the study of the interaction between the Sparvo tunnel and the slope it crosses, Geosolving developed a three-dimensional numerical model with the objective of evaluating the evolution over time of the interaction between the tunnel and the large complex landslide present at the site. After a detailed reconstruction of the geologic conditions and the landslide volume, through the use of the finite difference software FLAC3D and the advanced time-dependent constitutive law SHELVIP, it was possible to reconstruct the deformation history of the slope, calibrated on the evidence of the on-site monitoring, and to perform predictive analyses. These analyses are aimed at evaluating the evolution of the tensile and deformational state of the tunnel linings due to the interaction. The work performed plays a relevant role in supporting the operator in the monitoring and management activities of the infrastructure.
