The design of energy tunnels for sustainable cities was the topic of Marco Barla’s conferencia magistral at the Mexican Tunneling Conference, yesterday, in Mexico City, discussing how energy tunnels can boost the energy transition for large cities. The thermal activation of the Turin Metro Line 2 is a unique example of a large scale planned exploitation of geothermal heat by means of energy geostructures. Geosolving is proud to have contributed to its feasibility study and outline design. The project will allow saving more than 60% of carbon emissions with a return of investment of less than 10 years.
